The RENDEV project receives the European Union '2009 Sustainable Energy Award'24/03/2009
The RENDEV project, in which IT Power act as one of the key partners was rewarded the ‘2009 Sustainable Energy Award’ in the “cooperation programme” category. RENDEV focuses on microfinance and renewable energy in Bangladesh and Indonesia. IT Power analysed the policy frameworks in both countries and also brings the technical expertise on solar energy and the development of training manuals. PlaNet Finance is the project coordinator and adds the expertise on micro-finance into the project team.

Wang Sicheng receives Robert Hill Award24/02/2009
The 2007 winner of the Robert Hill Award for the Promotion of Photovoltaics for Development was Wang Sicheng of the Beijing Jike Company, part of China’s Energy Research Institute (ERI). The award was presented at the 23rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EPVSEC) in Milano in September 2007, but for various reasons Wang Sicheng could not come to Milano to receive the Award, and neither could Bernard McNelis, Chairman of The Award Committee, present the Laudatio.... read more
New Chief Representative in China18/02/2009

Offshore Wave Power Boost26/01/2009
The wave to compressed air technology developed by Offshore Wave Energy and IT Power has been boosted by a grant from the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) together with contributions from existing shareholders.Invented by Professor John Kemp, and originally revealed in the April 2003 edition of Eureka, the intention is to come up with an optimised full scale design of the machine, now known as, “Grampus”, taking its name from the Grampus Griseus or Risso's Dolphin.... read more

First AGM of the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE)03/07/2008
The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) held its first Annual General Meeting in Aix-les-Bains in June. The Alliance was formed by the renewable energy trade associations as an EPIA initiative. Under the leadership of Ernesto Macias (President) and Paula Llamas (Secretary General), the ARE now has 24 members, including IT Power. At the AGM, Bernard McNelis was elected to the Board of Directors. Installation has started of a new tidal stream generator20/06/2008
Following the recent granting of planning permission by the Secretary of State, John Hutton, the Pulse Stream 100 tidal energy converter project has commenced installation in the Humber Estuary, one kilometre off the south shore of the river between Immingham and Grimsby. Piling of the foundation structure was completed in May 08 by contractors Humber Work Boats. The structure is now ready to receive the main structure and foils, which are to be delivered later in the summer.... read more
