Pre-registration of CDM / VER projects IT Power is able to provide the following consultancy activities for the facilitation and realization of CDM and Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) projects worldwide:
- Emission reduction project identification/sourcing/screening
- CDM pre-feasibility study
- Due diligence with respect to all aspects of CDM project development, implementation and completion
- Help in identifying and raising finance for emission reduction projects
- CDM project documentation including Project Design Documents (PDDs)

- CDM bundling to enable small projects to gain best value from the Kyoto mechanisms
- Marketing the emission reductions – Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) and VERs
- Supporting negotiations with CER/VER buyers and facilitating Emissions reduction purchase agreements (ERPA)
- Assisting in regulatory approvals, validation and registration
Post-registration
Once an emission reduction project is registered there is no guarantee that the project will deliver CERs or VERs. IT Power can provide management and monitoring services to help ensure the delivery of CERs and VERs:

Registered projects
Huitengxile 25.8 MW Windfarm Project, China - Registered: 26/06/05. IT Power prepared the PDD as a subcontract to Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA).
- Zhangbei Manjing 45 MW Windfarm Project, China - Registered: 23/03/06. IT Power prepared the PDD and found a buyer
- Pansan Coal Mine Methane Utilization and Destruction, China - Registered: 31/03/07. New methodology NM0075 developed by IT Power was incorporated into the consolidated baseline methodology ACM0008 approved by EB. Final registration was taken forward by CRM, the joint venture company established by IT Power.
- Saihanba North 45.05 MW Windfarm Project, China – Registered: 15/12/06. IT Power prepared the PDD before the project was transferred to CRM.
- Saihanba East 45.05 MW Windfarm Project, China – Registered: 15/12/06. IT Power prepared the PDD before the project was transferred to CRM.
Projects in progress
- Wind, biomass, landfill gas, waste heat recovery, hydro and coal mine methane projects in China

- Development of CDM projects in Bangladesh including poultry farm using poultry waste, Sugar industries using bagasse, Solar Home Systems in rural areas and Waste to energy sector.
- CDM projects have been identified in Kenya and Ethiopia for bagasse co-generation projects and emission reductions within the cement industry.
CDM Assessment and Due Diligence experience
- IT Power provided technical and regulatory due diligence advice to a potential investor for a HFC23 destruction project within a HCFC22 production facility in Asia under the Clean Development Mechanism. IT Power made an assessment of the technology and viability of the project as a CDM project.
- IT Power carried out due diligence studies on three proposed biomass electricity plants in China. IT Power’s studies assessed fuel supply, plant technology, regulatory and environmental approvals, staff capabilities for operation and maintenance and construction schedules. IT Power also carried out an assessment of a cattle manure biogas project in Western China for its eligibility for CDM.
CDM General and Capacity building experience
- Capacity building for the Cameroon DNA
- Increasing Supply of CDM Gold Standard Projects – The project including identifying suitable projects including a biomass plant in China, a small hydro plant in Brazil and an improved energy efficiency transportation project in the Philippines.
- Capacity Building on Implementation of CDM in Guizhou Province, China– IT Power has identified projects and provided technical training for project owners on a number of registered methodologies including coal mine methane utilisation, waste heat recovery and biomass.
- Provision of CDM technology profiles for landfill gas, HFC23 destruction, nitrous oxide and CMM/CBM projects
- Mainstreaming Climate Change and CDM in Indian and Chinese Financing Sectors. IT Power is providing capacity building to the finance sectors in both countries to encourage the sector to identify further CDM projects within their portfolios and to encourage further investment in carbon reduction projects.
- IT Power has provided advice to a project developer on their strategic approach to their portfolio of CDM projects.
