Planning for Climate Change

Planning for climate change offers the opportunity to ensure new Local Development Frameworks take into account their impact on climate change and to ensure local planning policy maximises the local benefits of efficient and renewable energy use.  The results of such studies inform the Local Authorities as to the practical potential for renewables into the future.  It enables them to assess their progress towards the regional and national targets for improvements in energy efficiency, the development of renewable energy and reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.   Clear recommendations are provided and evidence to underpin the preparation of future planning policy relating to climate change.

IT Power is experienced in providing this type of assessment and guidance and has recently completed similar studies in the City of Sheffield, in Leicestershire and in the East Midlands Region.
