Monitoring and Evaluation

IT Power routinely carries out testing, monitoring and data analysis for renewable energy systems.  IT Power was responsible for writing a Toolkit for Applying Participatory Approaches to Monitoring and Evaluation of Renewable Energy Programmes and was involved in the monitoring and evaluation of a water mill project in India and of biogas and energy saving stoves in China.

IT Power staff have specified, designed, installed and commissioned monitoring systems for projects including: a 40 kWp PV façade at the University of Northumbria; 17 domestic PV systems installed for Berwickshire Housing Association as part of the DTI Domestic Field Trial; 100 domestic solar water heating systems for Gwalia Housing Association and two experimental 6.2 kWp PV Systems in Majorca and Oxford.

IT Power was part of the technical management team responsible for commissioning (i.e. inspection) of grid-connected PV projects which were funded in the first phase of the DTI's Domestic Field Trial.

IT Power staff were also responsible for inspecting small wind systems installed under the DTI Clear Skies Programme.
